One person was found deceased in a two-alarm fire that crews say was intentionally set Thursday night in the City of Concord.
The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of a fire at 5:45 pm Thursday in the 3500 block of Euclid Ave in the City of Concord. The fire went second alarm response with the fire under control by 6:30 pm.
In an update, CONFIRE says its fire investigator’s have determined the fire was intentionally set in multiple locations throughout the house. One fatality on-scene with Concord Police department investigating.
Concord Police also confirmed the fatality and said the investigation is ongoing.
No other information was released.
Nov. 18 UPDATE Arson Investigation
Concord, CA – On Thursday, November 17, 2022, at about 5:45 PM, the Concord Police Department and Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to the 3500 block of Euclid Avenue in Concord for a report of a structure fire.
While firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, a deceased subject was found near the fire with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A firearm was recovered next to the deceased and the investigation indicates the fire was intentionally set by the deceased person. There are no outstanding suspects and no ongoing risk to the public.
The Police Department and Contra Costa Fire – Fire Investigation Unit are investigating the incident. The County Coroner’s Office is working to identify the deceased person and notify next of kin. No additional details are being released at this time.
