Richmond Set to Break City Council District 2 Race Tie on Tuesday

The City of Richmond announced that since the District 2 City Council race between Andrew Butt and Cesar Zepeda ended in a tie, the tie will be broken by Lot on Tuesday.

Both Butt and Zepeda each received 1,921 votes and based on RESOLUTION NO. 79-22, they will be forced to break the tie by placing each candidates name in a sealed unmarked envelop and the tie vote shall be broken by a lot.

Candidates will be allowed to bring a guest of their choice while the community can watch online or on television.
