Visalia, CA – A recent investigation by the California Highway Patrol’s (CHP) Golden Gate Division’s (GGD) Cargo Theft Interdiction Program (CTIP) and the Visalia Police Department, has resulted in the arrest of two (2) suspects, and the recovery of approximately $414,000 of The North Face products.
The Visalia Police Department initiated a cargo theft investigation, for the loss of an entire shipment of The North Face products. Ultimately, the case was referred to the CHP GGD CTIP. CHP investigators identified potential suspects and authored a search warrant for the suspected location of the The North Face stolen cargo.
On December 19, 2022, CHP GGD CTIP Investigators executed the search warrant at a Public Storage facility in Sun Valley, CA. Investigators discovered two storage lockers full of the stolen The North Face cargo. While recovering the products, the suspects arrived at the storage locker. Both suspects were placed under arrest for felony possession of stolen property and were later booked into the Los Angeles Police Department Van Nuys Jail.
At this time, this investigation remains ongoing.

CHP Recover Over $500k in Stolen Best Buy Merchandise
Dec 9: Central Division’s Organized Retail Crime Task Force recovered merchandise, stolen from the consumer electronics retailer, Best Buy, which was valued at more than $500,000. California Increases Efforts to Combat Organized Retail Theft Ahead of Busy Holiday Shopping Season

CHP Announces Arrest in Large Bay Area Retail Theft Operation
May 11: PITTSBURG, Calif. – The California Highway Patrol (CHP) today announced the arrest of a suspect believed to be part of an organized retail theft ring and the recovery of stolen merchandise valued at more than $700,000.
Investigators assigned to Golden Gate Division’s Organized Retail Crime Task Force (ORCTF) arrested the suspect and subsequently executed a search warrant at a Pittsburg residence and a storage facility. The searches resulted in the discovery of stolen retail merchandise from CVS Health, Target, RiteAid, Safeway, Sunglass Hut, Macy’s, Total Wine and More, Lululemon, and several other retailers. — Full Story
