Dec. 21-28: Hercules Police Calls

The following is a sampling of the Hercules Police Calls reported between December 21-30 which focuses on the higher priority call responses in the City of Hercules.

 

Assault with Deadly Weapon

  • On December 25, 2022, at 7:10pm, officers responded to the 1500 block of Swallow Way for a report of an assault. A 31 year old male allegedly hitting one of the residents with a bat. The suspect fled the area prior to the officers’ arrival and was not located during area checks. The 57 year old male victim claimed the suspect hit him with a bat, and a cane, in the head. The victim desired prosecution against the suspect. The victim had a visible scratch and red marks on his head, but his injuries were not consistent with being struck by a baseball bat. The victim was treated by AMR and released on scene

 

Battery

  • On December 26, 2022 at 8:27AM HPD Officers were dispatched to a disturbance at Safeway. Officers contacted the 57 year old male victim who stated a subject attacked him without provocation and stole his wallet and cellphone. The robbery aspect turned out to be unfounded. The investigation indicates the incident stemmed from a road rage incident. The victim complained of pain and was evaluated by medical personnel but declined to be transported. The suspect was associated with a black Tesla SUV

 

Burglary – Residential

  • On December 26, 2022, Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Taraya Terrace for a suspicious circumstance. The homeowner was notified of a residential alarm activation, by her alarm company, at her home. She contacted her tenant, who lives above the homes detached garage, to inquire about the alarm activation. Her tenant said someone tried to access the residence through the back door. Officers discovered forced entry into the rear door leading into the garage. Directly across from the damaged garage door was a door leading into the rear of the main residence. Pry marks were located on the door frame and there was damage to the doorknob. However, it did not appear entry into the main residence was made. Due to the homeowner not being at the residence, the loss is undetermined at this time.

 

Domestic Violence

  • On December 24, 2022 at 1:19AM HPD Officers were dispatched to the 2500 block Bayfront Blvd, for a disturbance. Officers determined that a 20 year old male was struck in the head, multiples times, by his19 year old girlfriend. The male did not sustain any visible injuries and the female was taken into custody and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

 

Drug Arrest

  • On December 23, 2022, at 10:30 am, an officers conducted a pedestrian stopon a 39 year old male and determined that he was on searchable probation. A probationsearch was conducted, and the subject was found to have suspected Methamphetamine; anda pipe, commonly used to smoke narcotics, on his person. The subject was arrested, cited,and released on his signed promise to appeal

 

DUI

  • On December 29, 2022 at 5:04AM HPD units were dispatched to the 500 block of Dutch Elm for a vehicle partially on someone’s lawn. Officers located a white Acura MDX running, with the 28 year old male driver in the vehicle and unconscious. While attempting to wake up the driver, it was apparent that he was under the influence of alcohol. Once the driver came to Officers attempted to detain him, but he resisted and tried to pull away from Officers. He was assisted to the ground and taken into custody. The Preliminary Alcohol Screening device indicated the subject was over the presumptive limit for the purposes of driving. He was transported to HPD for a blood draw and cite/released to a family member

 

Evading

  • On December 28, 2022 at 7:56PM HPD Officers received notification of a silver 2007 VW Jetta wanted in connection with an armed robbery where a rifle was used. The vehicle was located EB I-80 at Willow Ave and Officers attempted to conduct a high risk stop. The vehicle failed to yield, and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit was terminated in the area of EB I-80 and EB I-780. The vehicle was located abandoned, several hours later, by CHP.

 

Possession of Methamphetamine

  • On December 27, 2022, at 12:53 pm, an Officer conducted a traffic stop on a silver 2005 Cadillac CTS, for vehicle code violations, in the area of San Pablo Ave at Hercules Ave. During the stop the 41 year old male driver, agreed to a consent search of his vehicle. As the subject exited the car a rifle style BB gun was observed, in plain view, on the back seat of the vehicle. An officer safety search, of the subject’s person, was conducted. Suspected drug paraphernalia was found. A probable cause search of the subject’s person was conducted, and suspected methamphetamine was located. The subject was placed under arrest for being in possession of a controlled substance. He was cited and released at the scene on his signed promise to appear. The Cadillac was found to be expired since 2021 and was towed.

 

Resisting

  • On December 21, 2022 at 8”50PM HPD Officers were dispatched to the BARTLot for a subject causing a disturbance and vandalizing a bus. Officers arrived on scene andattempted to contact the responsible party, but she immediately became hostile andcombative toward Officers. The 36 year old female resisted being taken into custody but wasultimately arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility

 

Shoplifting

  • On December 23, 2022, at 6:08 pm, officers were dispatched to Safeway for a theft of meat in progress. Dispatch advised an adult male in a wheelchair was stealing meat. Officers arrived and located the 52 year old male suspect, out of Antioch, with an Uber driver, loading over $700 of stolen meat into the vehicle. The subject was detained. An in-field show up was done and it was confirmed the detained subject was the suspect. The property was returned to the store. The subject was released at the scene and a case will be forwarded to the DA’s office.

 

Vehicle Tampering

  • On December 27, 2022, at 11:43 am, an Officer responded to the 2100 block of Railroad Ave. for the report of a catalytic converter theft. The victim stated someone stole the catalytic converter from her 2007 Honda Element as it was parked along the curb in front of her home. The theft occurred on December 24, 2022, at approximately 12:00 pm

 

Warrant

  • On December 21, 2022 at 12:01 p.m. Officers received aFlock safety systems LPR notification for a Gray ’14 Chevy Malibu driving W/B Sycamore at Lupine Rd. The Malibu was listed as a suspect vehicle in a catalytic converter theft inFoster City. While enroute to the area, officers received a second Flock LPR notification forthe Malibu driving S/B Lupine Rd. at Heather Ave. An Officer located the Malibu driving N/BLupine Rd. at Sycamore Ave. and did a traffic stop. The driver was identified as 39 year old male, of Vallejo. He was found to have a suspended/revoked driver’s license. He was also found to have three outstanding Warrants. The first, was a Felony No Bail Warrant out of Marin County S.O. The second, was a Felony Warrant out of Solano County S.O. The third, was a Felony Warrant also out of Solano County S.O. The subject was arrested on the Warrants, and he was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. Photos were taken of subject, and the Malibu. The Malibu was towed, as the subject was arrested, and he was driving on a suspended license. Foster City P.D. was contacted and advised of the subject’s arrest.
  • On December 23, 2022, at 11:25 am, an officer conducted a traffic stop on aVW Taos, at Victoria Crescent West and Pebble Bay. The 33 year old female driver wasfound to have an outstanding warrant. The subject was arrested, cited, and released on hersigned promise to appear
  • On December 23, 2022, at 1:42 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a1996 Buick Centurion and contacted the 46 year old female front passenger, of Richmond.The subject was on probation and had an outstanding Warrant for her arrest. The subjectwas arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
  • On December 24, 2022, at 8:20 am, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a1999 Ford for a vehicle code violation. The 37 year old male driver, of Vallejo, was found tohave two warrants out for his arrest. The subject was arrested transported to the MartinezDetention Facility
  • On December 24, 2022, at 11:51 am, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a2018 Kia for a vehicle code violation. The 25 year old female front passenger, of Hayward,was found to have an outstanding warrant which was cite releasable. The subject arrested,cited, and released onher signed promise to appear.
  • On December 24, 2022, at 3:00 pm, an officer responded toSolano County Jail to pick up a 41 year old male, for an outstanding Hercules warrant (CaseH21-1330). Westbrook was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility and booked on his
  • On December 24, 2022, at 5:05 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a2014 Dodge Caravan for a vehicle code violation. The 56 year old male driver, of Manteca,had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The warrant was citableThe subject was arrested, cited, and released on his signed promise to appear.
  • On December 24, 2022, at 6:20 pm, officers were dispatched to Dartford and Canterbury for a suspicious vehicle that may have been associated with break-ins in the area. Officers contacted a 36 year old male, of Crockett; and a 33 year old female, of Crockett. Both were arrested for trespassing. The female was determined to have an outstanding warrant that was not citable. The male was cited and released for the trespassing and the female was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
