Danville Invites Community to Open House Event January 23

by CC News
Danville

The community is invited to an Open House event at the recently opened Danville Town Offices and Police Department. Visitors can tour the offices January 23 from 4 to 6 p.m. and learn more about the departments and operations of the Town.

During the Open House, staff will lead tours of the Town Offices and Police Department, as well as share information about Town departments. The new location includes the Danville Police Department, the Town Permit Center, Development Services (Planning, Building, Code Enforcement, Engineering and Transportation), Administrative Services (Finance, Human Resources and IT), and General Government (Town Council, Town Manager, City Attorney, City Clerk, Business and Economic Development and Community Outreach).  The Town Maintenance Department and Recreation, Arts & Community Services Department will also be on hand during the event to provide information about their services.

The Town Offices and Police Department moved from 510 to 500 La Gonda Way in November 2022. The move from the outdated office space allows the Town to expand operations to suit growing needs for services, and to have a dedicated space for the Police Department operations.

Since opening in November, the Police Department has been able to hold training events at their own site for the first time, and Town staff have worked with local artists to bring public art into the space. In front of the building is a mosaic heart sculpture from the 2020 Hearts around Hartz public art project, and inside is a Danville-inspired triptych mural.

The community is welcome to drop in to the Town Offices and Police Department at 500 La Gonda Way between 4 and 6 p.m. on Monday, January 23. Refreshments will be served. For more information, contact Jenn Starnes, Public Information Officer, at 925-314-3336 or [email protected].
