Updated: Oakley Police Work to Take Suicidal Man With a Gun Into Custody

On January 15, 2023 at 7:15PM the Oakley Police Department was called to the 100 block of Carol Lane to conduct a welfare check on a 43 year old male resident who had been drinking and making threats to commit suicide to family members. This same person suffered a mental health crisis last week as well and had been hospitalized for it. — full story

Oakley Police Nab Four Suspects For Organized Retail Theft

On January 11, 2023 at 8:46PM our swing shift patrol crew, consisting of: Sergeant B. Foreman, Officer B. Jackson, Officer R. County and Officer R. Hernandez were dispatched to a report of three suspicious young men inside Raleys pushing carts full of beer and laundry detergent.

All four suspects were arrested.  The confirmed stolen property was worth over $1,000.00 and it was returned to Raleys. The suspected stolen alcohol was also determined to be worth over $1,000.00. — full story

Juvenile Arrested in Oakley Police Officer Assault Also Wanted in San Francisco Muni Attack

While at the home of the foster parent our officer was simply going through the process of releasing the juvenile to the foster parent. The juvenile suddenly attacked our officer by punching our officer in the upper body area. The juvenile also stole the police radio from the possession of our officer and attempted to violently strike our officer with it. Our officer took the juvenile to the ground and attempted to gain control of him. The juvenile violently resisted against our Officer and continued to fight our officer, even to the point of reaching for our officers holstered gun in an attempt to gain control of it. Other officers arrived and the juvenile was detained.

After this incident the juvenile was booked into juvenile hall for a series of violent felony crimes against our officer.

At some point while the juvenile was in custody at juvenile hall it was determined he was also responsible for a violent attack on an elderly female on a San Francisco Muni bus on December 3, 2022. On December 29, 2022 the juvenile was transferred from the Contra Costa County juvenile hall to a San Francisco — full story
