Hercules Police Say Family Dispute Leads to Shooting

On February 10, 2023, at 9:18 am, Hercules Police Officers responded to a reported shooting in the 200 block of Brighton Street in the City of Hercules.

Upon arrival, Officers located a 27-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his lower back.

Further investigation revealed there was a physical altercation between two family members. A third uninvolved family member attempted to intervene and was shot by one of the parties involved in the altercation.

A 39-year-old and 31-year-old male subjects were both taken into custody on multiple felony charges and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. The victim was transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek and is in stable condition.

There were no other victims located and Officers were able to recover a firearm at the scene.

This incident is still under investigation.
