During the evening hours of January 3, 2023, Sacramento Sheriff’s Office (SSO) deputies responded to the report of a robbery that occurred at a residence in the Vintage Park area of South Sacramento County.

Deputies contacted the 71-year-old victim, who stated a male suspect entered her attached garage, punched her in the face while she was sitting in her vehicle, and then stole her purse.

Detectives from the Robbery Bureau and Central Division Problem-Oriented-Policing (POP) deputies determined the victim was followed from a local casino. Residential surveillance cameras revealed two suspects entered the victim’s garage, while a third suspect waited in a getaway vehicle.

Arrest warrants were obtained for 26-year-old Kesean Edwards of Oakland, CA and 23-year-old Jeral Wimberly of Antioch, CA. EDWARDS and WIMBERLY were arrested pursuant to the warrants in Oakland and Los Angeles, CA respectively.

Detectives believe EDWARDS and WIMBERLY may be responsible for other robberies and are seeking the public’s help in locating any additional victims. Detectives are asking anyone with information relating to this incident, to please contact the Sheriff’s Office at (916) 874-5115 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP. Tip information may also be left anonymously at www.sacsheriff.com or by calling (916) 874-TIPS (8477).

Sacramento County residents are reminded to be aware of their surroundings and watch for suspicious people/vehicles, especially when leaving places such as casinos, banks, jewelry stores, and retail stores. Do not go home if you believe you’re being followed. If you ever feel you may be in danger, call 911 and follow the dispatcher’s instructions.

Editors note:

Wimberly made news in 2018 when then Attorney General Xavier Becerra announced the arrest of and charges against 17 individuals for a robbery scheme targeting Apple retail stores across California that resulted in the loss of over $1 million. The defendants are charged with entering Apple retail stores in large groups wearing hoodies and snatching products on display in a matter of seconds. The alleged crimes took place across 19 counties. Wimberly was one of the 17 arrested.

As for Edwards, Danville Police arrested him in connection with a robbery at Costco in May of 2017.

According to Police Chief Steve Simpkins, at approximately 8:55 p.m. three suspects entered the store. One of the suspects, wearing a ski mask, walked to a glass display case, broke the glass with a hammer, and took items from the case.

Store employees confronted the trio, tackling one and holding him on the ground. The suspect with the ski mask ran into the parking lot and got into a vehicle and fled. The third fled in an unknown direction.

The suspect detained by employees, identified as Kesean Edwards, 21, of Oakland, was taken into custody by Danville Police officers. Edwards was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility and booked on charges of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and burglary.

Description of two remaining suspects: African-american males, 20s, 5’10 – 6’ tall, medium build. Suspect 1 wearing jeans, grey-green hoodie, mask and gloves. Suspect 2 wearing jeans and light blue hoodie.

Danville Police detectives are continuing to investigate the crime and locate the remaining two suspects. Any person with information on the incident is encouraged to contact the Danville Police Department at (925) 820-2144.

Is there a high school diploma between them?
Liberals, take note, there are people who don’t belong in society.
They have zero empathy for their fellow man and in soft on crime CA, Frank is correct it will probably take a murder for them to removed from society.

Bonta should not have let them out after the Apple robberies. Now a woman is paralyzed and her family left in financial ruin with no way to pay rent and bills. Hope Bonta doesn’t sleep at night for what he did. Becerra too. Will the people of SanBernardino County ever get their roads snowplowed and houses unburied. Gavin had some nerve going on vacation leaving so man without power and a breached levy. Who keeps electing these DemonRats.
