Oakley Man Caught During Burglary-in-Progress by Brentwood Police

The Brentwood Police Department announced the arrest of an Oakley man in connection with a business burglary.

Early Sunday morning, Brentwood officers were called to a business located on the 2400 block of Empire Avenue, for a report of a suspect trying to break in. The reporting party told Dispatch that they were watching the suspect break into the business via live video surveillance feed.

Officers quickly arrived on scene, and detained 38 year-old Andrew Guidry (Oakley) who was in the immediate vicinity of the business and matched the description of the suspect. Officers interviewed Guidry and searched his backpack, which contained several tools; including a screwdriver, pliers, bolt cutters and other tools.

Guidry was placed under arrest and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility for booking.

No other information was released.
