Brentwood Takes First Steps Toward Sand Creek Soccer Complex

Nov. 2022 — A Sand Creek Sports Complex is moving forward after the Brentwood City Council agreed to hire a firm for the planning, design and construction document services for the project. Located at Sand Creek road and Fairview, what is being deemed a “soccer complex”,  the design portion of the project will take place in 2023 and will include public outreach with construction is anticipated to begin in 2024.

The council main sticking point at the meeting was natural grass vs. artificial turf. The council wanted to ensure artificial/synthetic turf for the fields due to wants from the community and from a maintenance aspect.

In November, the council simply chose the firm to begin the process in which Verde Design, Inc. secured a $1.945 million contract which included a 15% contingency. It was approved in a 5-0 vote. —  See Story and meeting
