Brentwood Man Arrested on 3 Felony Counts of Burglary in Walnut Creek

The Walnut Creek Police Department announced the arrest of a Brentwood man in connection with burglaries.

According to police, Keith Stevenson, a 42-year-old resident of Brentwood, remains in custody on $1.87 million dollar bail after being arrested for several residential burglaries in Walnut Creek and in parts of unincorporated Contra Costa County.

On January 26th, at 10:26 am, Walnut Creek Police officers were dispatched to a call of a residential burglary in the 400-block of Castle Rock Rd. Units arrived on scene within three minutes and located the suspect fleeing in a vehicle. Officers pursued the suspect eastbound on Ygnacio Valley Rd. but had to terminate the pursuit due to the suspect’s reckless driving.

After an extensive investigation by patrol officers and detectives, Stevenson was identified as the burglary suspect and a probable cause warrant was obtained. Detectives also learned Stevenson was a suspect in residential burglary cases being investigated by the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office.

Stevenson was arrested on WCPD’s warrant in San Francisco on March 7th.

On March 9th, Walnut Creek PD and the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office jointly presented their cases to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office. The District Attorney’s Office filed the following charges:

  • Penal Code 459 – Burglary (Felony, Three Counts)
  • Vehicle Code 2800.2 – Reckless Evading (Felony)

Walnut Creek has seen multiple burglaries thus far in 2023 including a January incident where a Pittsburg man was arrested for a residential burglary.  The Walnut Creek Police Department report that a Pittsburg man was arrested in connection with a burglary at a residence.

On Wednesday night, Walnut Creek Police responded to the 3600 block of Perada Dr. on the report of a residential burglary in progress. The victim came home to find a person unknown to her inside of her residence. The suspect ran out of the house carrying some of the victim’s property. –  full story
