A man who worked at Deer Valley High School in the City of Antioch for 7-days as a security guard has been arrested and charged with seven felonies.

Christopher George Miller, 30, was charged on March 20 according to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

Miller had been under investgiation since June of 2022 when the Antioch Unified School District made Antioch Police aware of alleged improper contact between Miller and the minor by a parent.

According to the complaint, Miller first made contact with a minor around June 14, 2022 and knowing the female was a minor with the intent to commit an offense.  By March 10, 2023 and March 16, 2023, a felony was committed when he agreed to attempt lewd or lascivious acts on a minor, meet a minor to distribute lewd material, and give a minor drugs.

The complaint states the seven counts:

  • COUNT 1 – CONTACT WITH MINOR FOR SEXUAL OFFENSE
  • COUNT 2- MEETING MINOR FOR LEWD PURPOSES
  • COUNT 3 – CONTACT WITH MINOR FOR SEXUAL OFFENSE
  • COUNT 4 – DISTRIBUTING OR SHOWING PORNOGRAPHY TO A MINOR
  • COUNT 5 – DISTRIBUTING OR SHOWING PORNOGRAPHY TO A MINOR
  • COUNT 6 – ATTEMPTED LEWD ACT UPON A CHILD
  • COUNT 7 – ATTEMPTED SALE/OFFER TO SELL/TRANSPORTATION OF MARIJUANA

A statement was released by Antioch Unified School District Superintendent Stephanie Anello:

“In June of 2022, a parent reported that Mr. Chris Miller, a Site Safety substitute at Deer Valley High School, engaged in an inappropriate exchange with her daughter. Administration immediately called the Antioch Police Department to report the allegation and the substitute was terminated that same day.

Mr. Miller worked as a Site Safety substitute in the District for a total of seven days in June of 2022 at Deer Valley High School.

Unfortunately, when criminal investigations are pending, the Antioch Unified School District is limited in the information that we receive and can share. However, we can confirm that we will offer law enforcement our full support and hope that their investigation concludes with justice being served.”

Miller is being held on a $730k warrant at the Martinez Detention Facility.
