Brentwood Resident Occupation and Employer Survey Launched

City of Brentwood

by CC News

In 2022, the City of Brentwood partnered with the East Contra Costa Community to conduct a “Commuter Survey” aimed at determining the destinations of local commuters. The ultimate goal was to attract employers from the San Francisco Bay Area to consider expanding or relocating to the Highway 4 Corridor. Over 1,040 responses were collected.

The survey’s key findings were quite revealing:

  • more than 35% of commuters spend over 1.5 hours each way on their journey to work, resulting in an average of 15 hours per week spent on the road.
  • Furthermore, 52% of workers commute to cities across the East Bay, 21% commute to San Francisco, while an additional 4% travel as far as San Jose.
  • In terms of employment, the survey found that roughly 20% of residents work in healthcare, with another 20% employed in the technology and life sciences sector, and 10% working in finance, real estate, and other professional support services.

Leveraging these insights, city staff successfully engaged with various technology and key industry representatives in and around Brentwood, fostering potential growth opportunities.

The City says the next step is launching a “Resident Survey” to gain deeper insight into the specific occupations of our residents and establish more connections with life science, technology and healthcare employers throughout the Bay Area. Your input will help us attract top-tier employers and promote job growth in our community.

If creating high paying jobs means taking 10 years to approve building a building/offices, no one will come to 94513, either change of plan or get voted out! make out your mind

After re-reading the article I’m not sure what your reference is to 10 years. Are you implying that the City of Brentwood will be taking 10 years to approve a building there?
