On Saturday, April 29, 2023, at about 9:24 PM, Contra Costa County deputy sheriffs were dispatched to the 400 block of Clifford Ct. in Bay Point for a report of a shooting.
Deputies arrived at the location finding a person suffering from a gunshot wound. He was later pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim is identified as 19-year-old Jesus Gallegos of Bay Point.
A suspect was later detained and interviewed. He was subsequently arrested. He is identified as 18-year-old Kai Rossberg of Concord. .
He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on one count of murder. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
