Walnut Creek Police Arrest Bank Robbery Suspect

Walnut Creek Police are investigating a bank robbery that took place today, May 18, 2023, at the U.S. Bank at 1655 N. Main Street.  At about 1:45 p.m., officers responded to a holdup alarm and learned the suspect was still inside.

Officers evacuated adjacent businesses and were able to make contact with employees inside the bank. The suspect, 45-year-old Douglas Crosby, was detained without incident.

There were no injuries to employees or customers, no weapons involved, and no loss to the bank. Crosby was ultimately arrested for robbery and was also charged with violating his parole. He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility without bail due to the parole hold.

Walnut Creek Police Investigating Downtown Bank Robbery

The Walnut Creek Police is investigating a bank robbery that took place late this morning, May 6, 2023. At 11:39 A.M., the Walnut Creek Police Department responded to PNC Bank at 1101 S. California Blvd. for a reported hold-up alarm.

Responding officers quickly determined a bank robbery had occurred in which the suspect passed a note demanding money and stating he had a gun. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival. After an extensive area search, the suspect was not located.

The suspect is described as a man, approximately 6’1” to 6’2” tall, 180-200 pounds, white, wearing a black knitted cap, white facemask, sunglasses, black jacket, light colored pants, and white and blue shoes.

There were no reported injuries stemming from the robbery. The suspect fled with an undetermined amount of cash.
