Martinez Set to Talk Waterfront Marina Trust Land Use Plan

by CC News

On May 24, the City of Martinez will host a meeting to discuss its Preferred Plan and Implementation strategy regarding the Waterfront Marina Trust Land Use Plan.

The joint meeting will include the city council, its planning commission and the Parks, Recreation, Marina and Cultural Commission.

Staff is soliciting input from the City Council; Planning Commission; and Parks, Recreation, Marina, and Cultural Commission regarding the Preferred Waterfront Marina Trust Land Use Plan. Staff recommends that City Council and Commissions discuss:

  • Whether the Preferred Plan fulfills the vision established for the waterfront;
  • Whether there are other programs or elements that can enhance the Preferred Plan;
  • Whether the project-focused, multi-layered implementation strategy provides a viable path for the City of Martinez to pursue.

The next steps include development of a final land use plan and Trust Land Use Plan document; overall financial plan; and CEQA analysis. The final product will be a revised Waterfront and Marina Trust Land Use Plan to be submitted to the State Lands Commission for approval and subsequent adoption and implementation by the City.
