The San Ramon Police Department announced an arrest in a garage burglary on May 14 in the City of San Ramon.
According to police, dispatch received a call a call around 9:25 am from an alert citizen who saw someone burglarizing a neighbor’s open garage. Officers converged on the area within moments of dispatch in search of the suspect.
Police quickly found nearby the burglar who was busy loading our community member’s belongings into his car. The car he was in possession of was also found to be stolen and contained additional stolen property.
Police identified the suspect as John Minh Nguyen, 38 of Stockton who was arrested and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on the following charges:
- PC 459 Burglary
- PC 496(A) Possession of Stolen Property
- CVC 10851(A) Vehicle Theft
- PC 466.1 Possession of Burglary Tools
- HS 11377 Possession of a Controlled Substance
- HS 11364 Possession of Paraphernalia
- PC 496d(A) Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
- PC 1203.2 Probation Violation
The subject stole tools which were recovered. San Ramon Police did not have an estimated cost of the tools at this time.
The car and other stolen items were returned to the rightful owners and the suspect was taken to county jail on several felony charges.

Police need to go to these flea markets Chabot college had one last weekend as I walked thru there. I could all kinda of store product people were selling. Thinking how much of this stuff is stolen from the stores. We’re are they getting all this merchandise
