City of Oakley

Join the City of Oakley community for a morning of remembrance. Our Memorial Day Ceremony will begin at 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in Civic Center Plaza the morning of Saturday, May 27th.

Antioch Memorial Day Ceremony & Events

Join the Delta Veterans Group and the City of Antioch for multiple events and a Memorial Day Ceremony at the Oak View Memorial Gardens Cemetery (2500 E 18th Street) as they  honor and respect those that paid the ultimate price to protect our freedom.

  • 8:00 am – Pancake Breakfast
  • 10:00 am – Ceremony at Oak View Cemetery
  • 1:00 pm – lunch at Antioch VFW

Bay Point Memorial Day Ceremony & Parade

Join the Bay Point community All-N-One for a Memorial Day Remember and Honor Ceremony for those who served. A special Memorial Day Parade will take place at the Ambrose Recreation and Park District: 3105 Willow Pass Rd, Bay Point. Monday, May 29th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.

9:00 am – Service

Brentwood Memorial Day Observance – Honor and Remember

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10789 and Marine Corps League Det. 1155 will once again host its annual Memorial Day observance at Union Cemetery in Brentwood.  The Memorial Day event begins Monday May 29th at 9 AM at the cemetery at 11545 Brentwood Blvd. in Brentwood.
Please remember, the ceremony will start promptly at 9 AM. Join us as we honor the memory and sacrifice of our fallen military service members and restore the true meaning of Memorial Day. Here are some things you can do this Memorial Day: Learn About Memorial Day and our Local Heroes – attend the Memorial Day Service in Brentwood and learn about our local heroes.  Honor a Gold Star Family – A Gold Star Family is the immediate family member(s) of a fallen service member who died while serving in a time of conflict. Talk about your family’s history of military service. Talk to veterans about those they served with who gave their last measure of devotion for our country. Teach our children so they will understand the cost of our freedom. Fly the American Flag and wear a red poppy.
Gather the family for a minute of silence at 3pm on Memorial Day and observe the National Moment of Remembrance.

Clayton/Concord

Please join Lt. Jerry Novakovich Post 1525, Veterans of Foreign Wars and its Auxiliary, for its annual Memorial Day Ceremony beginning at 10:00 am. They will be at the Grove in downtown Clayton at 10. REMEMBER!


Danville Memorial Day Annual Remembrance

In San Francisco East Bay’s largest Memorial Day program is Danville’s annual Remembrance held at Oak Hill Park on Monday, May 29th with Danville Community Band kicking-off music at 10:30 AM – and a one-hour program starting at 11 AM sponsored by Viet Nam Veterans of Diablo Valley. (see program)

City of Martinez

The community is invited to attend a Memorial Day Ceremony this Monday. Thank you to City of Martinez Community and Recreation Services and the Veteran’s Commission for organizing this special event.

  • 9:00 am at the Alhambra Cemetery (Carquinez Scenic Drive)
  • 10:00 am at Ignacio Plaza (525 Henrietta Street)

Pittsburg Memorial Day Commemoration

Join the United Veterans Council of Pittsburg for a Memorial Day Commemoration Honoring Deceased Veterans and Deceased Members of the Armed Forces. Monday, May 29, 2023 10:00 am Pittsburg Memorial 2551 Harbor St, Pittsburg, CA 94565 (across from the Senior Center) Harbor Street between East Leland and Atlantic Ave.


Walnut Creek Memorial Day Ceremony

Annual ceremony to take place in Civic Park, Monday, May 29, 10:00 a.m. (1375 Civic Dr, Walnut Creek, CA)

Plan to spend part of your Memorial Day in Walnut Creek for the City’s annual tribute to the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.  The ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m., and will feature remarks from Mayor Cindy Silva, and a keynote address by retired Army and National Guard helicopter pilot Patrick Leary.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the end of the Korean War. Mayor Silva will reflect upon the lives of Walnut Creek residents who were killed during the war. Patriotic music will be provided by the Walnut Creek Concert Band under the direction of Matt Sadowski, and the invocation and blessing will be offered by Rev. Mark Burnham. The Walnut Creek Police Department will serve as the Honor Guard.

The ceremony, free to the public, will be held in Civic Park at the corner of Civic Drive and North Broadway in downtown Walnut Creek. All are welcome; the event is not limited to residents of Walnut Creek.

The commemoration will end with a procession across the street to the Veterans Memorial outside of City Hall, and the playing of Taps and lowering the flags to half-staff. North Broadway will be closed to traffic between Civic Drive and Cypress Street during the hour-long ceremony. Chairs will be provided, although visitors are welcome to bring blankets or their own chairs.
