At 3:43 pm Sunday, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of a roadside fire along Kirker Pass Road in the City of Concord.

While responding, the vegetation quickly spread and forced Kirker Pass Road to shut down to allow fire crews to work the incident and possibly have air support begin water drops.

By 4:22 pm, forward progress was stopped as the fire was located at Kirker Pass near Hess. The northbound Kirker Pass direction was shut down at Myrtle in concord.

According to Contra Costa County Fire, the fire was estimated at 7-acres.

No other information was readily available.
