Three Injured in Monday Morning Byron Highway Crash

At 6:48 am Monday, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vehicle crash in the area of Byron Highway near Camino Diablo in Byron.

CONFIRE Engine 92 arrived on scene reporting major damages with three patients suffering major injuries. A medical helicopter was requested and the landing zone was set at Excelsior Middle School

A second vehicle and a semi-truck was stopped at a nearby location and they were looking for additional injuries.

Upon further investigation, CONFIRE stated it located two additional big rigs that were involved per T92. A total of four AMR units were dispatched to the scene.

Update: the fourth AMR unit to the scene was cancelled. Medical helicopter to transport 1 patient, AMR ground to transport 2 patients to area hospitals.

Motorcyclist Killed Sunday on Marsh Creek Road in Clayton

On Sunday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a report of a motorcycle crash on Marsh Creek Road in the City of Clayton.

The crash occurred just after 9:00 pm in the area of Marsh Creek Road near Three Springs Road where it was reported a rider was down in the roadway.   Upon arrival by firefighters, the rider was declared deceased — full story
