Chrome Coffee in Downtown Antioch Burglarized For Second Time

For the second time in months, Chrome Coffee in downtown Antioch was burglarized after a person broke a window and made entry into the coffee shop.

As of 11:00 am, Chrome announced they were open after being delayed this morning to get the shop cleaned up and damages fixed. They are open until 3:00 pm.

“We are okay, the shop is okay, and we are just looking forward to putting this behind us. We won’t be able to open at Creekside Park today unfortunately as I have to deal with the details of the aftermath. Thank you for your understanding and patience at this time,” said Chrome Coffee in a statement.

Antioch PD UPDATE:

The subject arrested was a 31-year-old male. He was located inside the business after a reporting party stated they heard noises inside the business. The call came in at approximately 04:19 am. The subject pried open the gate and broke the window to gain access to the store. He was found to be in possession of business keys, bank bags, the business’s check book and $1200 cash. He was arrested without incident and all stolen items were returned to the business owner. The subject was booked into MDF for burglary.


This is now the second time they have been hit by a burglary as on March 30, Chrome, Al’s Donuts and Monica’s Riverview were all victims of burglaries.

According to the Antioch Police Crime Statistics on their website, its showing a 171 burglaries (auto/business/residential) reported between January 1-April 30.

However, according to its crime logs, between January 1 – May 27, there have been 129 known and reported business burglaries.

And yet with a depleted amount of officers APD gets the guy in custody with a full recovery of stolen goods. Nice work !!
