Meanwhile, the East Bay Regional Park District is celebrating Juneteenth with a Free Park Day on Sunday, June 18, 2023, in recognition of the date when enslaved Black Americans in Texas were notified of their freedom, albeit 2.5 years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued — see story & more info.
June 17-19: East County Juneteenth
The community is invited to attend the Let Freedom Ring Juneteenth Celebration event from June 17-19 at the Contra Costa Event Park in Antioch.
This event will be held at the Contra Costa County Event Park formerly the Fairgrounds in Antioch, CA. Open to the public and will include live entertainment, food and beverage vendors, craft & commercial vendors.
- Saturday, June 17 from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm: the focus is Health & Wellness with special guest host Cuzin Kevin Brown featuring Mental Health sponsored by NAMI, performances by Vega Stars Elite, AUSD Young Queens, and so much more Headline performance by Venus Fulani live from Ghana.
- Sunday, June 18 from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm: Celebration of Fathers and the Culture with special guest host Steven Parker featuring a Gospel Showcase with Alfreda Lyons-Campbell, Lawrence Mattews, Sr and so many more, then Headline performance by Foreverland
- Monday, June 19 – from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm: Celebration of Freedom with special guest host Cuzin Kevin Brown featuring performances by Dangerate, Angelo Luster and so much more. Headline performance by Project 4 Band

June 17-18: City of Antioch
On Sunday, June 18, 2023, bring your family and friends to join the City of Antioch Recreation Department in celebrating Juneteenth, happening at Williamson Ranch Park from 12:00pm-5:00pm. Come and enjoy rides and games, live entertainment, free food and drinks while supplies last, and much more!

June 17: Oakley Juneteenth
The City of Oakley has announced it will host a Juneteenth Celebration on June 17 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Craft vendors, food vendors, and stage performance applications are now being accepted for the City of Oakley upcoming Juneteenth Celebration event!
The City of Oakley is planning a Juneteenth Celebration in Civic Center Plaza on Saturday, June 17th from 10AM to 1PM. Join in the music, food, and community events that make Juneteenth a day of joy and unity. Let’s come together to highlight and uplift Black voices within our community!

June 17: Juneteenth in Richmond
Juneteenth is scheduled for Saturday, June 17,2023 at Nichol Park. A parade will begin at the Booker T Anderson Center lot at 10AM, followed by a festival at 11AM. More details forthcoming.

June 17: Livermore Valley Juneteenth Celebration
Juneteenth Celebration in Partnership with Tri-Valley for Black Lives

Juneteenth commemorates the liberation of the enslaved peoples in Texas, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation abolished slavery in the Confederate States in 1863. We will observe the date with a local celebration, including music, art, drumming, singing, dancing, and musical performances.

June 17: Vallejo Juneteenth
Saturday, June 17, 2023 @ 11am to 5 pm
OUR EVENT HAS MOVED TO BARBARA KONDYLIS WATERFRONT GREEN (301 Mare Island Way, Vallejo)
Parade begins at 9 a.m. at Broadway and Tennessee Street
The parade begins at 9 a.m. at Broadway and Tennessee, turns left on Sonoma Boulevard and right on Virginia Street where participants will be viewed by dignitaries in the grandstand in front of the Empress Theatre and introduced by the parade announcer, Mr. Cortez Quinn, then continue on to the end of the route at Sacramento Street. Some participants will perform for the dignitaries when they reach the grandstand. The parade route is approximately 1 mile.
After the parade, everyone is invited to head to the waterfront for the Juneteenth Festival which starts at 11 a.m.

June 18: City of Pleasant Hill
Music, Food, and Fun Set for Pleasant Hill’s Juneteenth Celebration. The community is invited to come to City Hall on June 18, 2023, for an afternoon of fun as Pleasant Hill celebrates Juneteenth.

June 25: City of Concord
