What I witnessed last Friday, I’m not surprised at all by all the deaths on this road. These people seem to think they can drive head on, into oncoming traffic, cut off semi trucks and will survive. They need cement barriers all up and down this end of Vasco.

100% agree. It should be criminal that the county supervisors and bureaucracies don't address it. I always wonder where my tax money is going. Supervisors,,, THIS IS WHAT I WANT MY TAX MONEY GOING TO. PUT IN A CEMENT BARRIER! I just did the math on crowdcontrolwarehouse.com and for 12.1 miles it will cost us 9.22 million dollars for 5324 12' concrete barriers sold at retail, stretching from Walnut in Brentwood to the county line. That's a drop in the bucket when the county budget is BILLIONS. You can find old pictures of Highway 17 from the 50's where there was no center barrier. That's how unprogressed we are and what the supervisors think of us and our safety. We're basically 1950's highway transportation safety level. Shameful. The supervisors should be EMBARASSSED that they haven't gotten this accomplished.

What I witnessed last Friday I’m not surprised there are so many deaths on this road. People driving head on, into oncoming traffic, cutting off big rigs and think they will survive. Now I know why they call it the bloody Hwy. There needs to be a cement barrier all up and down this end of Vasco.
