At 4:50 pm Thursday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District was dispatched to an overturned vehicle crash in the City of Antioch.
The crash occurred in front of Sutter Delta Hospital where it was reported a pregnant female was ejected approximently 50-feet and was unresponsive. The Antioch Police Department also responded along with AMR.
By 4:59 pm, Contra Costa Fire Protection District firefighters reported one patient was deceased with two others sustaining minor injuries.
By 5:21 pm, Contra Costa Fire reported two patients were “trauma activated” and being transported.
No details other details have been provided in this fatal crash as of 5:22 pm
6:05 pm— ANTIOCH POLICE UPDATE on FATAL TRAFFIC COLLISION
At approximately 4:50pm, the Antioch Police Communications center received several calls of rollover collision in front of Sutter Delta Hospital on Lone Tree Way.
Officers and AMR arrived on scene and located a pregnant female who had been ejected from the vehicle during the rollover. She was pronounced deceased on scene.
A preliminary investigation revealed party one was driving recklessly before crashing into the pregnant female’s vehicle.
The collision is still being investigated and an arrest is probable.

I just drove by there on my way home and Lone Tree is still blocked as of 10:30pm. I’m sorry to hear about this loss of life, however it shows the Antioch police department’s total incompetence that they can’t clear a scene and reopen the road 5 hours later. It should not take this long having a major roadway closed.
A fatal collision is treated like a homicide investigation. Both take hours to clear.
Still no word from the bully pit? A mayor who wants accolades for puff pieces, parades and the like he attends to take a selfie and post on Facebook, but when it comes to developing solutions to address quality of life, crime, police support, he’s mute. Antioch is now the inner city of East County, full of undesirables and foolishness putting a drain on public resources. I for one am counting down til elections. Time to clean house, get effective leadership in place and improve the condition of this city.
Antioch PD doesn’t have enough officers on staff. It is not their fault, they’re doing the best they can. We need more officers on duty.
Yea well why is that? Could it be that there was police misconduct that maybe called for the firing of what,20 or so cops? Now if that isn’t the cops fault then who is responsible for thare actions? Take the facts and yea that’s the reason for being undermanned. Nobody else’s fault but the cops that got caught talking shit,and thinking there above the law. Remember what was written on the side of copaa cars? To protect and serve. Not to be jackasses. They need to retrain the academy instructors to remind them who they work for and instill that old school training and basic constitutional rights us citizens are born with and respect those rights to the cadets. If abuse of power is all there taught to use then shit won’t ever get better. Nobody likes a punk.
They’re short staffed because they’re not be recruited. Officers are choosing not to work in a city with an arrogant, pompous mayor who’s a control freak and doesn’t support the police. They’ve got to fight him, fight to keep order and fight for their lives. Thanks to Thorpe’s failed leadership, criminal activity in Antioch is at an all time high, and he’s still standing back twiddling his thumbs doing nothing and jumping at every opportunity to degrade the entire force. Now who’s fault is that?
It is a dam shame, on the side shows, I’m a fraud to be in a car let alone walking on the streets, the way folks drives have given me anxiety, I shake and can’t breath riding in a car, I tell myself, if anything happens it’s life ,but that’s not how it should be,
I think it is so crazy how u all assumed the pregnant lady was so innocent and assumed that the other car was the bad guy and caused the accident . She was a passenger to the driver who caused this mess. Just like regular democrats you guys speak and take a side without the whole truth. Situations like this is exactly what has made Antioch so horrible now. The good is framed to look bad and the bad is made to look good.
Everybody is sick!!! When are people who drink going to learn that ALCOHOL IS NOT YOUR FRIEND. You buddy up with it & allow it to take over your mind, it’s going to destroy other innocent people and eventually will get the one who’s engaging. Learn some sense! Keep repeating the same dumb foolishness over & over. These people should be locked up FOREVER, until they learn how to minimize their drinking and stop taking innocent lives.
