On Saturday afternoon, Brentwood resident Lea Sweet performing in tribute to Tina Turner at the completely sold out Bill Picket Rodeo in Dublin.
The Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo celebrates and honor Black Cowboys and Cowgirls and their contributions to building the west. We highlight the irrefutable global appeal of Black Cowboys and Cowgirls in the West and the stories behind a sub-culture that is still strong today. BPIR also serves as a cultural event and opportunity for families to enjoy and embrace the cowboy culture, while being educated and entertained with reenactments, history highlights, and western adventure.
On Sunday, Lea will be back at the rodeo entertaining and promoting the 3 Queens show at the Pittsburg Seafood festival.
Lea is considered to be one of the top Tina Turner Tribute artist in the country. Lea is a cast member of the popular Nathan Owens 3 Queens of Motown Tribute Show that will be featured at the Pittsburg Seafood Festival Sunday September 10th 3:30 pm.
The 3 Queens of Motown is Samantha Alexes as Aretha Franklin, Stacy Carter as Diana Ross, and Lea Sweet as Tina Turner. They are under the music direction of music director Nathan Owens and his exciting 9 piece band.
On Saturday July 15, the 3 Queens of Motown will be performing at Vallejos Empress theater.
