The accident that killed the woman on Lone Tree Way was tragic. But it shows just how dangerous the streets in Antioch have become. On any given day and night motorists can be observed speeding and racing on Lone Tree and Lone Tree isn’t the only road. Visita Grande is is another favorite street. Although the speed limit on Hillcrest was reduced, motorists commonly exceed 50mph in the 40mph zone. James Donlon is another street where several memorials have been placed in memory of love ones lost to accidents attributed to speed. Our streets are dangerous and everyone knows it including our Council and yet nothing is being done to enforce laws designed to protect and prevent this behavior. APD needs help and without it every motorist, bicyclists and pedestrians that use our roadways is in jeopardy.
