Man in Critical Condition After Vehicle Crash in Brentwood

It has been a busy Saturday morning in the City of Brentwood for Contra Costa County firefighters after two major vehicle crashes occurred  

3:55 am: Shady Willow & Los Montanas

A vehicle traveling southbound on Shady Willow Willow Lane from Lone Tree Way towards Sand Creek Road when it entered a canal. The occupant of the vehicle was in critical condition after it took approximently 45-minutes to extricate him from the vehicle. He was airlifted to an area trauma center.

CONFIRE says it took 45-minutes due to stabilization issues and access to the vehicle being it was in a canal. They had to remove the roof while pulling him from the canal.

The Brentwood Police Department and AMR also responded.

5:49 am: Balfour and Sellers

A vehicle was reported on its side with a person trapped at Balfour road and Sellers within the City of Brentwood Saturday morning. Two AMR units were requested to the scene along with two medical helicopters, however, both patients were ultimately ground transported to area hospitals.

No other information on either crash was released.
