On Monday, just before 8:00 am, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District received a report of a deceased body along the rocks at Fulton Shipyard in the City of Antioch.
The incident prompted a response from the Antioch Police Department.
During the recovery efforts, a CONFIRE rescue boat was not available and the fire department had to utilize a nearby excavator to lower a firefighter toward the body in the water then place the body into the bucket. They were then lifted back to the shoreline at Fulton Shipyard.
It’s unclear if this is a person who went missing last week after falling off a jet ski, or related to another incident. The Antioch Police Department have not yet released any information on the incident.
