The APOA has learned that several of our current and former members have been indicted by the FBI at the culmination of their investigation into members of the Antioch and Pittsburg Police Departments. We are saddened to learn of what has happened and look forward to the legal process playing itself out. We are committed to still providing quality service to the citizens of Antioch and also providing support for our members who are still working through this difficult time.

The Antioch POA offered no other comment.
A press conference was announced by US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California which is scheduled for 3:30 pm. No details on this morning’s activity have been released as of 10:00 am.
Multiple sources have confirmed approximately a combined 10-12 police officers from both the Antioch Police Department and Pittsburg Police Department are in custody.
Back in April, Contra Costa County District Attorney Diana Becton announced for over a year (more than 18-months ago), the FBI and the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office have engaged in a joint federal and state criminal investigation of sworn law enforcement officers from the Antioch Police Department and Pittsburg Police Department. The broad range of offenses under investigation involve crimes of moral turpitude.
Its unclear if the arrest are related the police officer text message scandal, crimes of moral turpitude, education incentive pay scam, or steroids—it is anticipated the details of the indictment will be released later Thursday.
