Dec 4-10: Richmond Police Calls

The following Richmond Police Calls are for December 4-10. These are the dates and recaps reported by Richmond Police.

Below is an overview of significant service activity provided by RPD patrol officers during their scheduled shifts. Please note that activity shared in these segments are provided only as an overview, and do not reflect the entirety of service calls and reports taken throughout each shift.

  • 12/4 – POSSESSION OF STOLEN VEHICLE: Officers responded to a Flock notification of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was confirmed to be reported stolen. Officers observed the vehicle occupied by two subjects and additional units were requested. The vehicle accelerated and fled but was located a short time later. Officers observed the suspects flee from the vehicle and a perimeter was established. A lengthy search of the area was conducted with negative results. The vehicle was recovered. #10757
  • 12/4 – POSSESSION OF AN EMBEZZLED VEHICLE – ARREST: Officers responded to a Flock notification of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was confirmed to be reported stolen. Officers located the vehicle and conducted an enforcement stop. The driver was arrested without incident. #10372
  • 12/5 – POSSESSION OF STOLEN VEHICLE – ARREST: Officers responded to a Flock notification of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was confirmed to be reported stolen. Officers located the vehicle and observed the driver and passenger attempting to flee on foot but were quickly detained by officers. During the course of the investigation, both suspects were found to be in possession of illegal narcotics. Both suspects were arrested without incident. #10797
  • 12/5 – POSSESSION OF STOLEN VEHICLE – ARREST: Officers responded to a Flock notification of a stolen motorcycle. The motorcycle was confirmed to be reported stolen. Officers located the motorcycle and conducted an enforcement stop. The driver was arrested without incident. #10811
  • 12/7 – OUTSIDE AGENCY ASSIST: Officers responded to a Flock notification of a felony vehicle in the area that was wanted for grand theft in a nearby city. Officers located the vehicle and conducted an enforcement stop. The suspect was detained without incident and the nearby agency was contacted to assume the investigation. #10953
  • 12/9 – ARMED ROBBERY: Officers responded to the 100 block of Nevin Ave for a report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned the victim was seated in her parked vehicle when she was approached by two suspects with firearms. The victim handed over her purse and then heard a single gunshot. The suspects fled with the victim’s purse prior to officers’ arrival. Officers located and collected one casing near the victim’s vehicle. An area check was conducted with negative results. This investigation is ongoing. #10986
  • 12/9 – COMMUNITY EVENTS (2): Bagging for the Fire and Police Food and Toy Program took place today at the Richmond Recreation Center. Volunteers from the community, Police Department and Fire Department assisted with 500 bags of groceries to be distributed on December 16th. The event was extremely successful The Jugueton Navideno Toy Give-Away co-sponsored by the LPOA took place at the intersection of 23rd St and Garvin Ave. The event was very well received and approximately 1400 toys were distributed which placed smiles on the faces of the children and their parents.
  • 12/10 – SHOOTING INVESTIGATION: Officers responded to the 1500 block of Garvin Ave for a report of a ShotSpotter activation registering one round. During the course of the investigation, officers learned the victim was walking when he noticed his friend’s vehicle lights were on and went to investigate. As the victim approached the vehicle, the suspect exited and quickly began to walk away. The victim yelled at the suspect to stop and the suspect fired one round towards the victim. Fortunately, the victim was not struck or injured. The suspect fled prior to officers’ arrival. An area check was conducted with negative results. This investigation is ongoing. #11006
  • 12/10 – SHOOTING INVESTIGATION: Officers responded to the 1500 block of Nevin Ave for two ShotSpotter activations registering one and two rounds. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect running from the scene. A short foot pursuit ensued and the suspect was eventually arrested without incident. During the course of the investigation, the suspect provided officers with the location of the firearm, which was recovered. This investigation is ongoing. #11024
  • 12/10 – MISSING JUVENILE: Officers responded to the 500 block of 44th St for a report of a missing juvenile. During the course of the investigation, officers learned the juvenile walked away from their parents’ residence and the parents were out looking for the juvenile. Officers conducted a search and located the juvenile shortly after in the area of 37th and Roosevelt. The juvenile was returned home safely to their parents. #231210244
