Mount Diablo Beacon Set To Light Up On Memorial Day

Mount Diablo Summit Beacon

The folks at Save Mount Diablo announced that on Monday night, at sunset, they will light the Beacon atop mount Diablo’s summit to honor Memorial Day.

The Beacon will shine throughout the night and until we rest it shortly after sunrise on Tuesday, May 28.

They light the Beacon to honor veterans every year on Pearl Harbor Day, Veterans Day, and Memorial Day, as a tribute to the individuals who serve. We are proud to maintain and operate the Beacon. Veterans will know that the Beacon will shine long after they are gone.

According to the Town of Danville, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 75 and other local veterans organizations will light the Mount Diablo Beacon during a ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Building starting at 8 p.m.
