The San Ramon Police Department announced California High School was placed on lockdown after a threat was made to the school.

Update #6 – 12:31 pm
The entirety of the California High School campus has been searched and cleared. The lockdown of the campus has been lifted. Out of an abundance of caution, San Ramon Police personnel will remain on campus throughout the remainder of the school day to ensure the utmost safety of those on campus.

The search of the California High School campus is continuing, and the campus remains in lockdown status. For additional information on the origin of the incident, please see below.
This incident began earlier this morning when front office staff at California High School received a call from an unidentified male. During the phone call, the male stated explosive devices had been placed throughout the school. In addition, the male stated someone would be arriving shortly to shoot up the school. Immediately after this information was discovered, the school was placed in lockdown status. San Ramon Police Personnel who were on-site and those who immediately responded established immediate protective measures to ensure the safety of those on campus.
Based on the specific language and details mentioned by the caller, the decision was made to conduct an extensive search of the campus using explosive detective K9s, who were escorted throughout the campus by uniformed Officers.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the origins of the call in an attempt to identify the caller.

The California High School campus search is continuing and will include the parking lots and exterior sports fields. To ensure the utmost safety of everyone, this will be an extensive search and may take an extended amount of time to complete. The campus continues to be in lockdown status.

A search of the California High School campus has begun with the assistance of explosive detection K9s. In addition, uniformed police personnel are escorting any students or staff located outside of classrooms or offices back to the front office. The campus continues to be in lockdown status.

San Ramon Police Personnel are providing a secure perimeter around the school as well as the San Ramon Olympic Pool and Aquatic Park. Explosive detection K9s from several outside agencies are on-site, and a search of the campus will begin shortly. The campus continues to be in lockdown status.
Update #1 – 9:55 am
Police resources are on-site and providing extra security at California High School as a result of school staff receiving a phone call threatening violence. Currently, the high school is on lockdown status to ensure the safety of all on campus.
