Brentwood Man Arrested in Skylinks Golf Course Burglary

A Brentwood man has been arrested in connection with a May 31 burglary attempt at the Skylinks at Buchanan Fields Golf Course.

According to the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office, on May 31, 2024, at about 3:58 AM, Muir Station Deputy Sheriffs were dispatched to the Skylinks at Buchanan Fields Golf Course at 1091 Concord Avenue regarding an alarm. Deputies arrived to find the front gate broken and glass that was damaged. The suspect fled the scene. Deputies were able to develop suspect and vehicle descriptions and began searching the area.

Later that morning, they arrested the suspect. He is identified as 29-year-old Justin Keller of Brentwood.

He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on burglary, vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools, and possession of a controlled substance charges. In addition, Keller had several outstanding arrest warrants. He will being held in lieu of $370,000 bail.

Since October 2023, the new owners have been attempting to renovate and upgrade the muni golf course—which had been in operation for over 70-years, however, the past few decades it was neglected.

The pair of owners are working to not only make this a golf course, but also serve as a community club where people can come play 9-holes of golf or hit range balls.
