Firefighters Battle 3-Alarm Vegetation Fire in Bay Point

The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vegetation fire off Bailey Road in Bay Point Monday afternoon

The fire broke out at 7:08 pm in the area of Bailey Road near Maylard St where the fire was first reported as approximently 1/4 acre in size and growing. A full vegetation fire response was requested along with a second alarm for structure protection. A third alarm was requested as more homes were possibly going to be threatened.

By 7:34 pm, the fire was determined to be contained due to the defensible space.

The fire was contained to 5-to-7 acres in size.
