The Pleasanton Police Department announced that a Richmond man has been arrested in connection with a July 9 robbery.

According to police, an airsoft rifle and ski mask were collected as evidence after a man was arrested for robbery. On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, around 9:30 p.m., the Pleasanton Police Department received reports about a suspect wearing a black ski mask and black clothing, and carrying a rifle. The suspect entered a store at the 3000 block of Bernal Ave and demanded money from the cash register. After dumping the till into a duffel bag, he fled the scene.

Upon arrival, our team of police officers found store employees safely locked in a back office. Officers tracked down the suspect along Stoneridge Mall Road and, following a brief foot pursuit, detained him. Nearby, they recovered the duffel bag containing the airsoft rifle, black ski mask, and the till, which had roughly $230.

During the investigation, officers discovered the suspect, 43-year-old Mario Robinson from Richmond, was on active parole. He was subsequently booked at Santa Rita Jail on charges including robbery and parole violation.

No other information was released.

You can’t hide from Pleasanton PD on foot. The story doesn’t make sense to me because Bernal Ave and Stoneridge Mall Road are nowhere `near each other.

How does it not make sense? While its a press release from Pleasanton PD, suspect did flee the scene and he was tracked down by officers along Stoneridge Mall Road.
