Contra Costa District Attorney Recall Effort Set to Begin?

by CC News
Becton

It appears voters in Contra Costa County have had enough of Contra Costa District Attorney Diana Becton and are ready to attempt a recall.

A campaign committee to recall Becton has popped up on the California Secretary of State website and with the new FPPC committee filing, an effort could get underway soon.

Back in December, a Facebook group called “Recall District Attorney Diana Becton” has been launched and were seeking 10,000 followers before efforts move forward with a recall–its unclear if its the same group moving forward.  The unidentified group calls themselves “twenty professionals who reside in Contra Costa County” and say they are fully committed to the recall effort. They will need 75,000 signatures to get it on the ballot.

In 2022, a Soros-backed PAC spent $1 million in an effort to help Becton get elected in a battle against Mary Knox. Becton received 56.41% of the vote to Knox receiving 43.59%. After the election, Knox was later demoted —However,  Knox was also part of a $2.2 million settlement against Becton for discrimination where Knox and other members of the DA’s office won their case.

In 2017, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors appointed Becton after former District Attorney Mark Peterson resigned. The appointment had controversy after Becton was accused and later admitted to plagiarism. By June 2018, Becton was election (50.67%) against Paul Graves (41.87%)—it could be argued Lawrence Steven Strauss (7.47%) was in the race to pull votes from Graves to get Becton elected. After the election, Becton demoted Graves.

Other District Attorneys & recalls:

In California, voters are apparently fed up with soft on crime and District Attorney’s providing more rights to criminals than victims. The District Attorney’s were supported and funded by George Soros and supporters which include:

  • Pamela Price of Alameda County
  • Chesa Boudin of San Francisco
  • George Gascon of Los Angeles County

Alameda County District Attorney

This November, Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price faces a recall after residents are fed up with her not charging violent criminals–more than 123k signatures were submitted in the petition. For more information on that recall, visit: https://recallpamelaprice.org/

LA County District Attorney

In Los Angeles County, District Attorney George Gascon has survived two recall attempts and will face Nathan Hochman in November in a runoff election. Gascon faced off against 11 people who ran for District Attorney. Gascon took top spot with 25.19% of the vote versus Hochman at 15.94%.

San Francisco District Attorney

In June 2022, San Francisco residents voted to recall District Attorney Chesa Boudin with a 55% vote. Boudin won the District Attorney seat with 50.8% of the vote against Suzy Loftus (49.2%) in a 3-round ranked choice voting.

Don’t forget the wedding/party Becton threw a few years ago while telling the rest of us to stay “locked down”.

I can only hope Contra Costa County residents shape up and vote her out.

Where do we sign? I hope they don’t use facebook as the tool for the recall signatures.

56.41% in that last election for Becton? Ouch. That’s a spanking. Oh, that’s right she advertised endlessly on the tube that she got the steel mill in Pitt fined a bunch of millions of dollars- she holds people ‘accountable’ (though the record above says otherwise). That worked out well- too bad the mill getting idled and shuttered and everyone laid off never really made the news. 600-ish blue collar working class tax paying jobs, gone. Not to mention all the truckers, parts vendors etc. also out.

I have lost a lot of respect for the voters of this area over the years. They vote for the wrong people and then cry when it’s all bad and goes south. The smart ones vote with their feet.

It buyer’s remorse! You all who voted for her too bad. Paul Graves was an excellent choice but not enough people voted 20% or less turn out. Mary Knox excellent candidate 20% turn out. Don’t blame the dems when they actually vote. Conservatives, get off your chair and VOTE! Gawd this state is dumb as hell!

Excellent, Becton needs to go. No more Soros gunfrd, no consequences crimes, DAs. Becton no showed (and didn’t bother to call and cancel) murder victim Alexis Gabe’s parents after they drove all the way to Martinez from Antioch for a meeting with Becton about their daughter’s murder. Alexis Gabe’s parents had to conduct their own investigation into their daughter’s murder for the most part to bring her killer to justice and thanks to Friends of Alexis Gabre, her family was able to bring the killer to justice. Becton is largely responsible for poor police support and offenders allowed to repeat crimes such as car theft and shoplifting over and over to the detriment of Antioch area because stores like Target and grocery stores continue to close.

Where do I sign Becton and Newsom recall petitions? Supposedly, there is a second recall petition going for Newsom too and I would like to sign that petition as well.

Soros funded Gascon needs to go too for authoring Prop 47 in the first place and his handling of the Kate Steinle Trial in SF. People in SF were so angry at the verdict, Gascon left SF and took his no consequences crime agenda to LA thanks to Gavin Newsom.

Vote for Steve Garvey for CA Senator. Disingenuous Adam Schiff never should have been allowed to run for CA Senator in the first place. Steve Garvey will hit the ground running. He’s already been up and down the entire state of CA assessing CA’s problems and has a plan of action ready to go if elected. Steve also recently returned from a trip to Israel so he could see for himself what is going on there! Very interesting to hear him speak about Israel.

Support out troops which Biden does not and dishonorably discharged 7,500 for refusing Fauci’s poison C19 vaccinations, Our troops have been bombed over and over trying to protect supply chain vessels. Support U.S. Energy independence, vote for Trump. Kamala Harris was not competent for VP but only checked a box which is unfortunate since there were so many other competent individuals that also check the box.

You started to make some valid points until your posting deteriorated into a MAGA-Trump rant. The “poison C19” vaccines were developed during the Trump Administration, not Biden’s. Donald Trump was among the first to receive the vaccine, but he didn’t have the courage to publicly say so. And military personnel who refused the vaccine were NOT “given dishonorable discharges.” The discharges were either Honorable or General – both of which preserve veterans’ benefits and allow later rejoining. If you knew anything about the military, you’d know that a Dishonorable Discharge can be imposed only by a general court martial
