At 2:56 pm Friday, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a vegetation fire in the 4300 block of Evora Road in Bay Point.
The fire was originally reported as a 3/4 acre fire, however, by 3:05 pm, CONFIRE arrived on scene reporting the fire had grown to 5-acres. By 3:09 pm, it was estimated at 25-acres.
Structure protection was requested to Driftwood Road by CONFIRE who also requested Evora Road be closed in both directions as of 3:10 pm.
As of 3:22 pm, the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office was requested to begin evacuations on Caskey and Powell. Evacuations also requested for Nichole’s Road.
By 3:40 pm, the fire was estimated at 120-acres per CALFIRE (more info)
By 4:44 pm, CALFIRE said the vegetation fire had reached 150 acres, however, no structure losses.
By 9:30 pm, CALFIRE says 462 acres, after better mapping, and 20% contained
Saturday UPDATE
As of 6:30 am, CALFIRE says the fire was at 471 acres and at 40% containment.
As of 7:10 pm, CALFIRE says the fire is at 471 acres and now 70% contained.
Sunday Update
As of 5:51 pm, CALFIRE says the fire is at 471 acres and now 90% contained.

This is a message from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District. Due to a FIRE an immediate evacuation has been ordered for parts of CONCORD and BAY POINT NORTH OF HIGHWAY 4. ZONES CCC-E201, CCC-E215, CCC-E216. This is an EVACUATION ORDER. LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. Take only important items you have ready and can carry with you. Pets must be in a carrier or on a leash. Stay off the phone unless you need to report a life-threatening emergency at your location. If you are physically unable to leave your home unassisted, call 9 1 1 for help.
