The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vegetation fire in the City of Antioch Monday.
Crews responded to the area of Gentrytown and Tomkins Way on multiple reports of smoke, some callers reported flames on the hillside.
Upon arrival, CONFRE reported smoke and a short time later confirmed a 2-acre vegetation fire between James Donlon and Gentrytown.
By 4:20 pm, the fire was under control and forward progress stopped at approximently 3-acres in size. No other information was available. Crews were estimating to remain on scene for approximately an hour for mop up. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
No structures were damaged and no injuries have been reported.
