Martinez, CA – St. Vincent de Paul of Contra Costa County and Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa are excited to announce a joint charity bocce ball tournament to raise funds for their missions of helping those in need. “The Big La Bocce” fundraiser will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the Martinez Bocce Ball Courts, located at 100 Joe DiMaggio Drive.
This charity tournament promises a day filled with fun, friendship, and providing dignified care for those in need. Participants and supporters alike will come together to enjoy the timeless game of bocce ball while making a significant impact on the lives of the most vulnerable in our communities. The funds raised from this event will feed, clothe, shelter, and heal those in need.
“By partnering with Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa, we are amplifying our efforts to support our community,” said Claudia Ramirez, Executive Director of St. Vincent de Paul of Contra Costa County. “This event is a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy a great day out, and make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.”
The tournament will feature friendly competition, opportunities to connect with community members, a catered lunch by The New Mecca Café, and unique and exciting silent auction offerings. Whether you’re a seasoned bocce ball player or a newcomer to the game, this event is open to everyone who wants to contribute to a worthy cause.
“Together, we can do so much more,” said Janette Kennedy, Executive Director of Development and External Relations from Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa. “This bocce ball tournament is more than just a game; it’s about supporting our neighbors in need and strengthening our community bonds.”
