On this episode, I chat with Dave Ennis who is running for State Assembly in District 11 against Lori Wilson. He considers himself a fiscal conservative while being moderate on social issues. He has taken the slogan of build things right the first time and getting back to basics such as providing a good education, helping small business stay in business and creating jobs.
We touch on a variety of topics from crime along with Prop 47 impacts, homelessness to housing issues. Impact of poor infrastructure and this wealth exodus out of California. He also opposes the Delta Conveyance Project. If elected, he wants to work to bring people together, not just play party politics.
Cities within AD11 include: Vallejo, Fairfield, Vacaville, Oakley, Suisun City, Benicia, Dixon, Discovery Bay, Rio Vista

About Dave Ennis
People in our District are struggling to make ends meet. While the homeless look for shelter, our state legislatures focus on issues that do not put food on the table, stop crime, or improve our schools.
I have a new vision, back to basics and getting our children a good education, helping small business stay in business, and creating jobs for hard working folks. With common sense and community spirit, we can make California proud again.
Our infrastructure is wearing out. To maintain what we need requires building and upgrading vital infrastructure such as roads, schools, drinking water, stormwater, wastewater, hospitals, etc. I can help to secure alternative private, state, and federal financing for infrastructure, leaving more of your tax dollars for schools, law enforcement, and affordable housing.
I’m a professional Civil Engineer licensed in California with additional extensive Executive background in the Automotive, Electronics, Aerospace and Defense Industries.
For the last 6 years in my second career I’ve helped communities secure FEMA Hazard Mitigation Funding for Natural Disasters in California, Puerto Rico, Texas, and Hawaii. I was responsible for vetting proposed projects for technical feasibility and cost effectiveness, good and bad. I’ve helped to fund over 1$BN in projects to mitigate disasters from potential threats such as Floods, Hurricanes, Landslides, Earthquakes, and Wildfires.
My background includes building things right the first time. Things like roads, airports, buildings, airplanes, BART cars, Patriot Missiles, M1 Tanks, and Chinook helicopters. Things that need careful planning to agree on and define what is critical to success, and designing a solution that works the first time at a price we can afford to build it the first time.
I’ve seen projects that will work right and projects that won’t work. We can secure Federal and Private Funding by preparing infrastructure plans to offset the need for more taxes.
