On Monday, Clayton City Councilmember Holly Tillman released the following statement regarding her decision to run for re-election in the City of Clayton.
Here is her statement:
After four years serving our community on Clayton’s City Council, I’m excited to formally share the news — I’ve decided to run for a second term!
Over these years, I’ve listened to, and fought for, ALL Claytonians and have tirelessly advocated for good governance, fiscal stability and our unique quality of life. As a nonprofit executive and parent with a lifetime of experience in community service and finance, I’ve been a strong voice on the council, standing up for residents who want safe streets, beautiful neighborhoods and accessible infrastructure on a sustainable budget.
Specifically, I have:
-
- Spearheaded Firewise communities to fight wildfires,
- Approved funding for recreational infrastructure and a new playground,
- Increased police salaries to recruit and retain high-quality officers,
- Fought for an accurate budget and expressed concerns about inconsistencies in Clayton’s budget reports, and
- Advocated for a more inclusive community by co-organizing the Clayton Pride parades, Clayton’s Day of Service, and Clayton Speaks.
- Spearheaded Firewise communities to fight wildfires,
That’s why I’ve earned the endorsements of Contra Costa County Supervisor Ken Carlson, Contra Costa Community College District President Rebecca Barrett, MDUSD Board Member Cherise Khaund, eight former Clayton mayors and the Contra Costa Labor Council.
In my second term, I will continue to do what is right for every Clayton resident, not just the loudest voices.
