San Pablo, CA – In August 2024, the San Pablo Police Department (SPPD) received information regarding stolen copper wire sales occurring within and around San Pablo.

San Pablo Police subsequently partnered with Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office (CCCSO) detectives to initiate a joint investigation. During the course of the investigation, three adult male suspects were identified to be involved in the purchase, sales, and possession of stolen catalytic converters and stolen copper wire.

On September 10, 2024 at approximately 8:00AM, San Pablo police officers and CCCSO deputies served two search warrants in the 1700 block of Road 20 (San Pablo) and the 1000 block of Brookside Drive (Richmond).

As a result of the two search warrants, SPPD officers and CCCSO deputies seized a significant cache of suspected stolen property, including more than 700 catalytic converters, over 1,100 pounds of copper cable wires, and over $113,000 in US currency.
