Firefighters Battle 70-Acre Vegetation Fire in Concord

Just after 1:00 pm Wednesday, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vegetation fire in the City of Concord.

The fire was located in the area of Willow Pass Road near Avilia Road and was estimated at a couple acres before spreading quickly to 10-acres. It then grew to 50-acres per CALFIRE who was working the incident in unified command with CONFIRE.

CALFIRE said as of 2:36 pm, the fire was estimated at 70-acres and 30% contained.
