The California Highway Patrol say a Concord man was arrested with nearly 100 pounds of suspected methamphetamine after a traffic stop. He was identified as 47-year-old Magdaleno Quezada Garcia of Concord.

CONCORD, Calif. – A Concord man is in custody, and nearly 100 pounds of suspected methamphetamine have been recovered following a traffic stop by a California Highway Patrol (CHP) Golden Gate Division (GGD) canine unit.
On August 29, 2024, at approximately 8 a.m., a GGD canine unit was on patrol on Interstate 680 near Marina Vista Road in Concord when the officer conducted an enforcement stop on a white GMC van for a moving violation. While speaking with the driver, the officer began to suspect the driver may be involved in additional criminal activity. The officer deployed his canine partner, Vito, to conduct an exterior sniff of the vehicle and subsequently alerted to the odor of drugs.
After detaining the driver, officers searched the vehicle where Vito had alerted and located numerous bags of a substance believed to be methamphetamine. In all, officers located nearly 100 pounds of suspected methamphetamine in the vehicle.
Following the search, officers arrested 47-year-old Magdaleno Quezada Garcia of Concord. Garcia was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on numerous felony charges, including possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine for sale, and transportation of methamphetamine for sale.
