Antioch Councilwoman Questions One Day at a Time

At its September 10 meeting, Councilwoman Tamisha Torres-Walker addressed the Sycamore shootings.

“I have been to Sycamore, I’ve been to Sycamore after every shooting,” said Torres-Walker. “I am not afraid of Sycamore and I will be back this week.”

Torres-Walker stated $1.8 million was brought to the City of Antioch to address the violence and in almost 2.5 years they have not had a response to the Sycamore Corridor.

“My question to One Day at a Time (ODAT), which is an organization that received the contract after one failed relationship didn’t take root, why haven’t you been on the ground at Sycamore providing services for the $300k that you got from the city to serve that community,” said Torres-Walker. “The residents want an answer.”

A mostly peaceful celebatory shooting after evening church service at the Amish church , just guessing.

Regarding Ms. Torres-Walkers comments, I'd say that the residents want an answer on why this clueless city government shovels untold thousands of dollars out to these ineffectual (at best) nonprofits.

Maybe just maybe there is some ties between Tamisha and ODAT? Just saying.

Another testament to the great non-profit scam. Millions of dollars spent and zero results. These non-profits feed off the taxpayers and have been doing so under the radar for years. They should be required to post all their financials quarterly so everyone can see where the money is going. Unfortunately, the ruling class doesn’t want this because their friends profit from the scams.

F#@k it's scary as hell at Sycamore Sq. The people have taken it over. What happened to Thorpe cleaning the place up. You made the property owner put up the fencing. Just for thugs to take it over. I want to witness you going down there Ms. Walker. Oh wait that's where your kids hang out. What a joke. You have made Antioch a shot hole. We as voters failed this town. It's time to take it back. No circus in town. No No.

I miss hearing the gun shots in the distance when I lived in Da Hood. They helped put me to sleep in fact! Luckily they didn't put me to sleep for good! 😁
