El Campanil

Antioch, CA — El Campanil Theatre is excited to announce the promotion of Joshua Price to Executive Director.

Since joining the team in March 2021 as Technical Director, Joshua was instrumental in navigating the theater through the challenges of the pandemic and transitioning from virtual shows back to welcoming audiences at full capacity, and also in helping to establish new processes and standards in the role of Event Operations Manager.

As they step into this new role, Joshua is ready to foster deeper community connections and develop innovative programming that reflects the heart of Antioch.

With Joshua’s departure from the role Event Operations Manager comes the need to fill that vacancy, which has been advertised internally first, but could be advertised externally if not filled in relatively short order.

A Vision for Community Engagement

With a background in sound design for theatre and live events, Joshua brings technical expertise and creative passion to their new role.

“When I first came to El Campanil Theatre, I was inspired by the potential of our children’s theatre program and the charm of this 96-year-old gem in the heart of Rivertown,” Joshua shares. “We have an incredible opportunity to engage with our community in more meaningful ways, and I’m committed to making that happen.”

Joshua’s plans include expanding educational programming for children and seniors, reintroducing film screenings, and reviving the El Campanil Theatre Academy (ECTA) to offer diverse classes and camps for children and teenagers.

These initiatives are part of a broader effort to make the theater a vibrant, inclusive space that serves the community’s needs and interests.

Strengthening Community Connections

Joshua emphasizes a collaborative approach to programming: “We’re eager to hear from the community about what they want to see and experience here at El Campanil. By working together with the City of Antioch and local organizations, we hope to create a cultural hub that reflects our community.”
