Recovery efforts are underway to save the fall baseball season for the San Pablo Baseball Association after an arson resulted in $100k in damages — an amazon page has been created.
The San Pablo Police Department responded to Davis Park (1600 block of Folsom Avenue) on Monday morning at approximately 11:37AM to investigate a possible arson and burglary that had occurred. ConFire was on scene and had extinguished a fire set to a storage container that was full of sports equipment belonging to the San Pablo Baseball Association.
Officers learned that the suspect (ARR – Ulices Sanchez, a 30-years old, transient) had stolen items and then set fire within the storage container, which caused extensive damage to the unit and contents inside.
Witnesses were able to provide a description of the suspect, and officers quickly located him a short distance away – in possession of property suspected to be stolen from the container.
He was arrested without incident and booked at MDF on multiple charges including arson, burglary, and possession of stolen property.
