The Contra Costa Clerk-Recorder’s Office, in partnership with the California Department of State Parks, is returning to the Summit of Mount Diablo on Friday September 20, 2024 for another special “Destination Weddings” event for sixteen lucky couples.
Due to popular demand, the Clerk-Recorder’s office is offering this unique opportunity to interested couples for the second time this year. Mount Diablo, known for its ever-present peak, which can be seen from many parts of the Bay Area on clear days, and offers views of the entire Bay Area and beyond, will provide a breathtaking location for Destination Weddings. This event location has become a public favorite and is a very well-liked option in the ongoing efforts of the Clerk-Recorder’s office to provide one of a kind, unforgettable and accessible experiences for couples planning their wedding.
“The partnership with the California Department of State Parks has provided a great opportunity for our office to give couples who are getting married a beautiful and affordable destination wedding.” Clerk-Recorder and Commissioner of Civil Marriages, Kristin B. Connelly said. “Our office takes great pride in being part of these wonderful weddings on top of Mount Diablo.”
The ceremonies will take place at the Summit of Mount Diablo starting at 10:00 am. Each couple will have the opportunity to exchange vows with the backdrop of the entire Bay Area and beyond as part of their special day.
Because of the popularity of this event, most ceremony appointments have been booked, however, there are limited appointments still available. Anyone who is interested in this event should call our office directly at 925-335-7900 to book a ceremony as no unscheduled appointments will be accommodated.
A marriage license must be obtained before a ceremony can be performed. Couples can purchase a license prior to the day of their ceremony appointment at the County Clerk-Recorder’s office in Martinez. The fee for a public marriage license is $86, while a confidential license is $90. The civil marriage ceremony fee is $60.
