DUBLIN, Calif. – The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is seeking help from the public to identify additional witnesses to a Fatal crash that occurred on Saturday September 21, 2024, at approximately 8:20 PM. The crash occurred on Interstate 580 eastbound just west of First Street in Livermore.
At approximately 8:20 PM, the CHP Golden Gate Communication Center began receiving reports of a downed pedestrian lying in the traffic lanes of Interstate 580 eastbound west First Street. The downed pedestrian was a woman who jumped out of the right front seat of a black 2018 Audi, under suspicious circumstances, rolling into the traffic lanes.
The driver of the Audi briefly pulled to the right shoulder before leaving the scene and not stopping to report the incident until getting to Tracy. After rolling into the traffic lanes, several other subsequent vehicles ran over the later identified 24-year-old female from Pleasant Hill. The female sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the Audi was arrested for felony hit and run.
The CHP is asking for your help with any information regarding anyone who may have run over the pedestrian lying in the roadway, or anyone who may have witnessed this crash. If you or someone you know has information regarding this incident, please call the Dublin CHP office at (925) 828-0466.
