Antioch, CA — Troy Foulger of Oakley won both the 20 lap IMCA Modified and Stock Car Main Events Saturday night in Antioch Speedway. His third IMCA Modified win of the season moved him into second in the final standings, while his fourth win in the IMCA Stock Cars kept him fourth overall. It’s also his 76th combined career feature win, moving him into second all-time behind Bobby Hogge IV.

The championship night format put point Kellen Chadwick of Oakley on the pole of the IMCA Modified race and he bolted into the lead ahead of Foulger and State champion Jacob Mallet Jr of Oakley. Andrew Pearce of Oakley spun in Turn 2 on Lap 2, collecting Antioch’s Tyler Browne. Chadwick continued to lead Mallet and Foulger on the restart, and an intense battle ensued. A low pass in Turn 3 of the eighth lap briefly gained Mallet the lead, but Chadwick came rushing by on the outside down the back stretch a lap later.

A three-wide battle exiting Turn 4 on Lap 10 saw Foulger make an inside pass for second, but Mallet went inside on the front stretch on Lap 11 to get by both Chadwick and Foulger. A high pass in Turn 2 of the 12th lap gained Foulger the lead from Mallet. Foulger would lead the remaining laps for the impressive victory, followed by Mallet, new track champion Chadwick, Katelynn Robertson of Reno, Nevada and Pearce.

In the IMCA Stock Car race, Jason Robles of Rio Vista started on the front row and bolted into the lead at the green flag. Following a yellow flag for Chester Kniss of Antioch, Robles continued to lead Fred Ryland to Brentwood on the restart. Foulger was pressuring Ryland for second when the yellow flag waved for Nick Caughman Jr on Lap 3. Robles continued to lead Ryland and Foulger on the restart.

Robles had it hooked up on the outside groove, and Ryland couldn’t make the move. However, Foulger made a back stretch pass on Lap 6 to gain second and made another move on the inside down the back stretch to grab the lead on Lap 10. Foulger went on to win by a straightaway with Robles out-dueling Ryland for second. New champion Jason Jennings of Pittsburg and Kniss rounded out the Top 5.

Kenny Shrader of Pacheco won the 25 lap IMCA Sport Modified Main Event. This was his third win of the season, and he used it to clinch his second-consecutive track championship.

The championship night format had Shrader and Oakley’s Jason Ryan Jr sharing the front row. Shrader only held a one point lead over Ryan going into the night, and Shrader charged into the lead at the start. The opening lap saw Ryan brushing the back wall but maintaining his pace in second.

Ryan was challenging Shrader on the outside for the lead on Lap 8, and there was a little bit of contact. A lap later, Ryan beat Shrader to the line, only to see the pass negated when the yellow flag waved for James Graessle of Antioch.

Shrader continued to lead Ryan and Tommy Clymens Jr of Oakley on the restart. Ryan had a sluggish start but managed to get up to the rear bumper of Shrader within a couple laps. Trent Golden made his division debut, but he brought out a yellow flag on Lap 17. Again, Shrader charged ahead of Ryan on the restart with Buddy Kniss of Oakley moving into third.

Ryan saw his run end when he lost his brakes and got into the Turn 1 wall for a Lap 18 yellow flag. Shader knew he had the championship in hand as he maintained his lead on the restart ahead of Kniss. A Turn 2 pass on Lap 21 gained Fred Ryland third. Shrader went on to win ahead of Kniss. Ryland was disqualified from third, moving Matthew Hagio of Prunedale into third ahead of Trevor Clymens of Brentwood and Tommy Clymens Jr.

Clarence Holbrook III of Galt won the Pacific Coast Hobby Stock Main Event. This was his fifth win of the season. Despite Holbrook’s winning performance, Ryan Hart of Dos Palos emerged with the division championship.

Both Holbrook and Hart had heat race wins to keep their point differential at 12 between them. They shared the front row and Holbrook bolted into the lead at the start ahead of Hart and Jared Baugh of Pittsburg. Baugh spun out of third for a Lap 6 yellow flag.

Holbrook continued to lead the restart with Aidan Ponciano of Oakley moving past Hart for second. The final yellow flag waved on Lap 10. Holbrook continued to lead Ponciano and Hart on the restart. They remained in that order all the way to the checkered flag. Ponciano was disqualified, moving Hart into second ahead of Chris Long of Antioch, Michaela Taylor of Oakley and Baugh.

Ryan Siverling of Concord won the 15 lap Wingless Spec Sprint Main Event. Siverling is a past Antioch and Petaluma Speedway champion, but this was his very first feature win at Antioch.

The race had a red flag at the start when Bob Newberry of Brentwood and new champion Jacob Tuttle of Oakley made contact on the back stretch. Newberry got sideways in front of Tuttle with contact resulting in Newberry rolling. Both drivers were out of the race.

Blake Bower of Brentwood led the restart, but after a yellow flag for a spin in Turn 1, Bower broke in Turn 2. Siverling suddenly found himself in the lead ahead of Chris Geilfus and Roy Fisher, both of Antioch. Geilfus spun in Turn 4 for a Lap 5 yellow flag. Siverling led Kevin Box of Bethel Island and Dylan Newberry at Brentwood on the restart.

Siverling built a straightaway advantage by the time the checkered flag waived on his victory. Box outran Dylan Newberry in their close battle for second as Fisher and James Johnson of Antioch rounded out the Top 5.

Racing resumes next weekend with the Floyd Busby Tribute race for the BCRA Midgets and Lightning Sprints. The Super Stocks will have a $1,000 to win race. Also on the card will be the Butch Althar Memorial Hardtop race, Dwarf Cars and 600 Micro Sprints. For further information, go to http://www.raceantiochspeedway.com.
